Veri-Scan I Barcode VerifierAn out-of-spec bar code can be costly...to you and your customer.General Don't let an out-of-spec label get used. Verify the content and quality of each bar code symbol printed on your label in real time with the SATO Veri-Scan I. The Veri-Scan I employs a moving beam, visible light scanning laser to examine every label as it is printed.
It works the way you do. Program the Veri-Scan I to pause the printer when an out-of-spec symbol caused, for instance, by a media defect has been detected. Or simply store the out-of-spec information for review and analysis at a later time. Or choose the factory default settings. All programming is accomplished locally using the verifier's built-in 2-line alpha-numeric display and its four push button switches. Five LEDs continuously indicate the current status of the verifier.
The Veri-Scan I tests for ANSI readability grade (A, B, C, or D) and reference decode calculations. It also analyzes and records out-of-spec quiet-zone dimensions, bar ratios, wide and narrow bar widths, inter-character gaps (ICG), and modulus characters. Labels may contain up to a maximum of 10 bar code symbols arranged in a maximum of 6 lines of 1 to 4 symbols each.
Whenever all the symbols within the label have been predefined or when operated in the Data Match mode, the Veri-Scan I will effectively scan at the full 40 scans per second. When operated in this maximum security mode it has minimal effect upon the printer's throughput.
The Veri-Scan I is easy to install and use. A single cable connects the unit to the printer. The fully adjustable stand offers a wide range of verifier-to-label settings. Once programmed and initialized it operates without further need for operator input.
